Bhopal: Did a dead man walk into a court in Bhopal? A judicial magistrate's first class (JMFC) court asked police to file an FIR against a couple of lawyers, notaries and fake witnesses, who used the photo of a dead man to get bail for miscreants from the infamous Irani Dera gang in the city, arrested for rioting, obstructing police from discharge of duty and other crimes during police raid on the area.
Bhopal police registered a case of fraud and fabrication of papers against six persons — two lawyers, an oath commissioner and two persons who furnished bail bonds in court for a gang, which was rounded up from Irani Dera for targeting the police on Dec 27-28. One of the two persons, who furnished the bail bond, was dead while the other one had no claim over the piece of land, which he pledged as guarantee while furnishing a bail bond. An FIR was registered at Nishatpura police station at the behest of JMFC Laxmi Waskale.

DCP Mayor Khandelwal IPC sections 420 and 467 were pressed against the six and said the court had ordered police inquiry. The FIR against the accused, who, he claimed, was filed under multiple BNS sections for obstructing the police from discharging their duty.
After getting bail, the son of one of the persons, claimed that his father was dead. The prosecution moved the sessions court, seeking cancellation of the bail. The JMFC court then ordered the registration of an FIR against the six. However, the public prosecutor said that only the bail bonds, and not the bail, were cancelled as they were found to be fake.
